They impact prey at speeds fast enough to knock the victims unconscious and break bones, making for an easy meal. Fierce, relentless, and incredibly aggressive for their size, peregrines are known to attack and drive off even bald eagles when defending their nest and territory, despite the massive size disadvantage. They typically nest on cliffs and even high-rise buildings, and have made a remarkable comeback from the brink of extinction.
