This site, and my work, is dedicated to the memory of my grandfather, Joseph Rosario Asciutto - a man with more artistic talent than anyone I’ve ever personally known. His woodworking, painting and sculpting skills were incomparable, and I like to believe that some of his artistic talent lives on in me.
It was a relationship with my grandfather from when I was extremely young that set me on a path to a life-long love and respect for wildlife. I’ll always remember watching him put food out for the birds in an old metal garbage can lid he had resting in the branches of a dogwood tree in his back yard. We’d sit together when I was young and I’d tell him about new birds I’d seen, and together we’d draw little check marks in the bird identification book he bought me.
I’ll always cherish these memories, and while it will never measure up to his artistry, I hope he can see my work and is proud.
